My Spring Playlist

I was just out to see off my brother to the bus stop. He‘s leaving for his university. We were just talking about how hot it is and how it reminds us of the time we were in boarding school at such weather. The wind is blowing and it’s hot enough to wanna feel light. The sun is just how I love it; not too hot but bright! And it made me wanna refresh my memories of the past by listening to a few songs I used to listen a year ago and they make me miss the carefree high school spring days, just before the finals. Thought I’d share it.

1. Who Says by Selena Gomez. It came out at around this time and I was hooked to the song. I remember going home on a weekend and I couldn’t stop listening to it on repeat while my hair blowed away in the air that the open window of the coaster brought.
2. The Boy Who Murdered Love by Diana Vickers. There’s something about the video of this song that makes me feel all light and flowery.
3. Breathless by Taylor Swift. I know this song is supposed to be about the Haiti victims but the lyrics of the song make me feel like it’s about long lost lovers bonding. Which in my opinion is all light and sweet!

Notice my emphasis on light; that’s what spring makes me feel!

4. Taking Back My Love by Enrique Eglisias and Ciara. Though I am not sure about when this song came out, I saw the video around these days so it’s natural for me to feel “springy.”
5. The Show by Lenka. Now the video of this song is all cute and fun and it reminded me of the time when I would wake up really really early in the mornings to catch the hourly back to back music playback of random singles which include this.
6. I’ll Always Remember You by Hannah Montana. I have not seen the last season of the series but this song is one hell of an emotional roller coaster ride. That’s because right about this time is when high schools of my country let the senior classes go. In short, we have our graduation ceremony in these days. Boy, it makes me miss my friends! (this one is worth a listen specially if you wanna go for my playlist)
7. Rainbow by Jessie J. Now this song gives me hope. That’s because when I hear this song, I feel that I am not the only one who feels blue because he cannot follow his dreams; everyone, no matter how rich, goes through this phase. Also it makes me feel special because according to Jessie J. “We’re the colors of the rainbow!”
8. Crush by Mandy Moore. It’s sweet. Simple as that. The video is worth a watch!
9. Fly by Nicki Minaj and Rihanna. This song because the finals are here and this song gives me the hope to feel good and try my best. I heard this song nonstop when preparing my chemistry exam!
10. Saltwater Room by Owl City. It’s a sweet and light song! Too much sweet in fact! Addictive.
11. Snow by Red Hot Chilli Peppers. So my friend gave me his mp3 player when I was in 9th grade and I was too much of a scaredy cat to keep it because I am afraid of getting caught breaking rules. But this song is what made me keep it. I admit the mp3 got caught in a few hours, but it was totally worth it.

I guess this is it for my playlist. So go enjoy the sun rays while they aren’t hot and give these songs a try!
