We don't cry enough. We feel too much.

"Mainly, tears are composed of water, salts, antibodies and lysozymes (antibacterial enzymes)."*

Water:

Human beings are composed of up to 60% water*, so it makes sense to be losing water when we lose ourselves. When we cry, our tears are actually a part of us that we are losing. Spiritual loss, emotional loss and the loss of anything that makes us feel too much is manifested as the loss of our bodies through tears. So when we "lose ourselves" or find ourselves lost, we should understand that our crying is a physical extension of that loss, and that its ok to lose ourselves sometimes. Sometimes, its ok to feel like letting go.
Salts:

When our food has too much salt in it, we spit it out, and don't proceed to eating it. We move on. Our tears carry the same salt from our bodies*, and help us get rid of it. The saltiness of our being* is exacerbated whenever we're upset. So crying isn't just losing the salts that are in our body. Our tears take away our pain by extracting the salts from our mind, body and soul - the saltiness of our existence. When our souls get too salty, why would we want to hold on to it? Isn't it better to just let the tears take it all away?
Antibodies* and Lysozymes*

Our body is at harmony with our soul. It is only when the external influences start seeping in - or we let them in - that our body starts a battle within itself. Insecurities, comparisons, ungratefulness; feelings of inadequacy start to creep in. And slowly, we start losing the battle. The pathogens of the emotional world invade our sacred spaces. This is where antibodies and lysozymes come in. They help us fight the battle within us, in our blood, in our veins, in our heart. Our tears have them. They stand by and wet our eyes - our eternal vision - and help us fight the visions the world throws at us. Don't we want to fight? Don't we want to keep ourselves safe?
