If i'm being honest, the reason why i often find myself staying away from desi skincare brands is because a lot of them don't disclose their ingredients the way skincare products should be shown. There isn't transparency which really has me judging local brands. That is not to say that I haven't had good experiences with them; I have. But I am now realizing most of those brands are the kinds of brands that rely a lot on product ingredients' transparency.
Maybe that is why korean skincare products appeal to me more. Effective ingredients list. Almost four years of korean skincare use, and here I am, a skincare addict excited to share the following skincare line FROM PAKISTAN!
If you're a korean skincare enthusiast in Pakistan, there's no doubt that you have heard of Mimo by M. They're actually retailers of korean skincare products e.g. Klairs and COSRX (two of my fav brands). but they recently came out with their own skincare line for which i am extremely excited. I have had the chance to use it and review it for y'all but before i review the individual products, I would like to mention the following things that I really liked about the product line.
1. Its vegan.
2. Its cruelty free.
3. Its artificial fragrance free
4. AND THEY USED A DESI SKIN TONED MODEL IN THEIR SHOOTS LIKE OMG WHO DOES THAT!
It's very rare that Pakistani brands approach their products this holistically. Mimo by M is an indie label in that regards, and I am all for supporting small brands with big ambitions whose ethics align with mine. All the points I have mentioned above should be enough for anyone to support them. But of course, it all comes down to the products in the end. So here I am dissecting the skincare line that I cannot gush enough about. So much so that I keep recommending their products to my friends, and have even sent a whole set to one of my friends as well!
Lets go step wise in the reviewing the Shine Bright Like a Star skincare line from Mimo By M.
1. THE FACE WASH
I always wear sunscreen. So I always have to double cleanse because naturally, the sunscreen cannot come off with the water based foaming cleanser alone. But the jelly like formulation of the Clarifying and Refreshing Glow Gel Cleanser was adequate enough for me to remove my sunscreen and confidently just make do with one wash. Of course, its not very stripping, which is a plus point honestly, because I have dry skin. So would I repurchase it? A 100% YES!

2. THE TONER
The Clarifying and Soothing Comfort toner had me at centella being one of the main ingredients. For someone with acne prone skin and a frequent beard shaver, I always desire to use soothing ingredients for the after shave experience. The toner sinks into the skin beautifully, and doesn't leave any sticky residue. I personally loved layering it with the 7-Skin method, cuz THAT GLOW OMG! Repurchase here I come!

3. THE SERUM
Ok. Serums are tricky. Whenever recommending them to someone, I always proceed with caution. Serums can be an investment that goes down the drain, or something that makes not only your skin glow, but your soul too. And I honestly feel like your wallet would be proud if you went for the Mimo by M Bright Like a Star Complexion and Texture Enhancing Brightening serum. Its a water based serum with niacinamide, licorice extract, arbutin, sodium hyaluronate and so many more amazing ingredients. I feel like if you wanted to start with one serum in your life, this is it.
4. THE MOISTURIZER
A lot of times my friends and followers ask me for a recommendation for a moisturizer that is well suited for oily skin type. Most common skin type in Pakistan is oily imo. So when offering advice on gel based cleansers, I am cautious because most gel type cleansers leave a slight film on top of the skin which can often manifest as pilling. With the Skin Refining and Regenerating Moisturizer from Mimo by M, I would say that go for it. It is just perfect for oily skin types. For my skin type, which is dry, I had to layer it up, but I also feel that with the previous skincare steps, two layers of this moisturizer were enough hydration for my face throughout the day.

So all in all, I would definitely recommend the aam pakistani skincare enthusiast to go ahead and try the line! Its something really cool out in the skincare scene in Pakistan and it's always good to support the local industry if it is producing something of good quality!
