Oh My God! It's In My Bed!

I bragged and boasted about it in my room at my hostel and was the object of envy for it. And my wall even got drilled for that. I was very excited about getting a new Split AC installed in my room. And the preparations were underway when procrastination hit my parents.Well, not exactly. My mum got busy with treating her patients and my dad got busy with his job. And the hole remained there wanting to be the one to let the hot air out, instead of letting it in and not the windows :D

As time passed by and i was studying like a good ol' teenager away from home, the hole attracted a lot of attention and it was not just my tantrums on the phone about getting the AC installed, it was not only the envious brothers(who have to share a single room which they don't even sleep in), not the parents who had to exchange a gazillion trips to the hospital(my dad drives my mum there) for it and the regular human beings; The birds thought to peek in every now and then too. I guess they were also awaiting the installation of the new equipment. But when they noticed that in six or so months nothing had happened, they decided to make their picnic spot their sleep spot. And what's best for them was that the heater in the winter was just below the hole, so they had no need to struggle anymore and cuddle anymore and use up their body molecules for heat. The hole is so big, it's like a mansion (in bird's world). And as i had been making my peers envious, I'm sure the mama bird bragged about their new home to her companions at hunt for food and the daddy bird tried to act all cool.

So I'm pretty sure the word got around in the animal world about the hole in my wall and they wanted to congratulate the birdy couple on their new home (which so happens to be my room). Cuz then started the trouble for me.

Everyday i would wake up to the sounds of birds scrapping around stuff in the hole. And some days i would wake up to the restless flapping of wings of the friends of the birdy couple who accidentally happened to fall down from the wall into my room. Why doesn't the birdy couple make boundary fences? It's my room!! I'm not exactly Sleeping eauty that i would make friends with them, or like it, at least! And one day, i got a visitor i always wanted to touch but was very swift; and I'm pretty sure that that thing wanted to touch a human too, only it never got a chance cuz the humans would always chase after them and they'd run away.

While i was sleeping one fine morning, i felt something on my leg. I thought someone must be waking me up. But it felt like something creeping on my legs. Since there's a lot of lizards here i thought it might be that, so i lifted myself a little to get a look at what it was. And it was most definitely not a lizard. It was one of the most cutest rodents I've ever seen in my life. And yes, i have seen a hamster, but i like this one cuz of the bushy tail. But i got scared the very next moment, cuz this rodent is known to have amazingly sharp teeth and many cases of it biting a human have been found. A SQUIRREL WAS TROTTING ON MY BARE LEGS. How did it get under the blanket!!??

I suddenly got up and ran out the room. What else could a person in this situation do? As i ran towards the door, it ran behind me. Maybe it wanted me to show the hospitality the mama bird had mentioned, but with teeth as sharp as that, I was not willing to do it. The squirrel seemed to have comprehended my fear and ran towards the doorless opening through which in ventured to greet this generous fellow. And after that, i never got any visitor again...

Though wasps frequent the room 'cuz of the light. And they also make me run away.

Now i have blocked the hole with a few pages off my newspaper collection. I don't know if it's a good thing or bad, but I sure know this, I won't ever have to run out of my room again.
