What This Political Illiterate Thinks About His Vote

I just found out I can vote. I checked through that SMS method. All my family got their votes registered before I turned 18 so I assumed I wouldn't be voting for another five years. But it came as a shock for me to find out I can vote. I never really took interest in politics. Uptil two weeks ago I didn't even know the names of the major political parties. But now I do. And I'm glad I do. My vote counts. Maybe it won't be the vote making history but it's better to cast it than to let it go to waste.

But who to give it to? That is the main question. I won't impose in this post on you that who is better or who is more deserving, But I'll be saying what my politically illiterate mind thinks. There's a lot things to take into account and everyone has their own priorities on who to give their vote. But let's make our country our priority. Who wouldn't want their country to progress? Who wouldn't want it to be un-corrupt? But let's see. Hmm. I'll give you an example of my class;
My CR. She's follow the rules herself and made sure that if anyone else broke the rules, they were caught. And then the class protested against her. Their democracy managed to dethrone her. Everyone likes to bunk caught proxies. She also caught anyone who was not in uniform. She wouldn't allow us to carry DVD's in the class and break rules. But what we failed to see was that she was the right one. We were the ones who were wrong.

hipster-hipsters-moon-night-space-tongue-Favim.com-107321_largeWhat we sometimes see as right for us is wrong in real. But we never stop to point out what actually is wrong. But who is not wrong? Can we figure that out? As a person who cheats, lies and tires his best to get the biggest piece of cake, I can tell I have no right to make the judgment on who's better.

I am just sick of people imposing - yes, imposing - on me what they think and forcing me to vote for a certain person or political party. My vote is my vote. Let me be the judge of who deserves MY vote. Considering how hostile you get when you're trying to convince me, I can assure you I get convinced, to not vote for that person/party. A lot of youngsters, well almost everyone of every age, is busy convincing others who to vote for. And their campaigning ways are not very impressive. I'm above 18, the government has certified me sane enough to decide who to vote for. I don't need your opinion being shoved in my head. I don't need you telling me who you hate and who you hate lesser.

Hate is a very strong word and when you combine the power to vote with it, it might turn out to be very drastic. It might seem right when you choose who you don't vote for but we need to realize it's a very complicated process and a big responsibility. All I think is that instead of campaining for a certain person/party, we need to take a more neutral approach towards it. Fix ourselves. Purify our souls. Only then we'll see who's right. Because as a person who lies and cheats on a habitual basis, I wouldn't want to be ruled by someone like me. Would you want to be ruled by someone like you?

A nation get's a leader just like themselves. Vote Wise.

P.S. I personally think that doing an istikhara before voting is much better a choice and decision on who to give your vote to.

Sometimes I wonder if I should not vote at all
