Menswear Trends from PLBW + TOP LOOKS

PFDC L'Oreal Bridal Week concluded recently. Here I pick my favorite looks from the whole affair and interpret the little of the menswear trends we can adopt to from PLBW 2014

[caption id="attachment_4788" align="aligncenter" width="474"]Zara Shahjahan debuted her menswear with the models walking down the ramps in perfectly dapper sherwani's while holding the chaddar's in one hand. The chaddars were beautiful and really complimented the whole look. [caption id="attachment_4787" align="alignnone" width="660"]Ali Xeeshan's men were basically complimentary to the main attraction; his Bridals, but they sure made for an interesting combination of pieces. This look stood out for me for the minimalism of it combined with signature Ali Xeeshan embroidery/embellishment. It was simple, yet statement making. But hers were more cape like and were beautifully embellished pieces one could just not help but fall in love with. Nida Azwer also made her models walk down the ramp in chaadars. [caption id="attachment_4791" align="alignnone" width="660"]Just this one. Yes, the one and only menswear outfit at PLBW by Fahad Hussayn and it just leaves us eanting more. Fahad is good at his menswear, he just needs to let us see more of that. Please, we need to quench the drool worthy hunger, too. Just this one. TRENDS OFF THE RUNWAY

The Chaadar

[caption id="attachment_4792" align="aligncenter" width="474"]This trend is something so eastern, and the good thing is one can don it so many ways and in so many styles, it will definitely make a wedding more fun. And mehndi's even more better, sartorially, of course. The Pakol

[caption id="attachment_4803" align="aligncenter" width="474"]The Pakol, or the afghan cap is the it accessory this wedding season. Sure, only one designer made his models walk down the runway in them but it doesn;t mean we cannot put our own spin on this. I say flaunt your pakol this wedding winter and let the world know you take your fashion as versatile as your wardrobe can be! The Pakol, or the afghan cap is the it accessory this wedding season. Dark Hues

[caption id="attachment_4794" align="aligncenter" width="474"]Yes, dark colors are in, specifically black. If you thought a black suit'n'tie was all the options you had, well, think again. Black eastern attire will be the IT ITEM to be wearing at desi weddings. Yes, dark colors are in, specifically black. If you thought a black suit'n'tie was all the options you had, well, think again. Embellishments

[caption id="attachment_4793" align="aligncenter" width="474"]Of course, how can you miss this trend. It's how our weddings are signature desi. But this time, the embellishments are not all over, and compliment the color of the tunic/sherwani/kurta more. It's like, base the color of the embellishment on the base color of what you're wearing; not the other way round. It's like a subtle spotlight, but a spotlight nonetheless.
