OUTFIT FOCUS: Kheriyan by M A K N A T E E S*

I am a sucker for local brands. Moreover, I'm a sucker for local brands that produce cool stuff that's basically one of a kind and probably something not many people would opt for. I think it is one of the essentials of wanting to stand out; to wear things others would either not want, or would not dare to go for. But this time, I think i would say that the product in review is worth going for definitely.

MAKNATEES or M A K N A T E E S - Made in Pakistan, is the brand in focus right now.

They are basically known for their awesome tees and hoodies with funky images and slogans on them, extremely Pakistani in nature (they have the desi touch), and the best thing about them is their affordability. The prices are relatively cheaper than other contemporary brands out there and they are definitely unique. Worth your money, if you like tees that make a statement. (You can buy here)

All of their stuff is made in Pakistan and nothing is imported. So basically, buy buying off the items

But what caught my eye were the peshawari chappals that they recently launched, also known as kheriyan. I found them through facebook stalking and God knows how i ended up there, but I am glad I did. I waited till my exams ended so i could get my hands on a pair of the kheriyan, either the Rickshaw Blue or the LAL Kheriyan (LAL=Red). Lucky for me, I got both the versions (courtesy of M A K N A T E E S).

And the good thing is that they also deliver internationally!

While I do believe the colors seem a bit unconventional, but don't we have Bata and Servis for going normcore? I think these Kheriyan are for the person who takes his style seriously. It's a bit pop art, but doesn't life imitate art? So it makes sense to go out about town in these extremely funky footwear that will definitely make heads turn!

For my outfit inspiration, I went with the blue ones like really casual like a night out with friends where I'm all lose and having fun. Obviously, for me, blue is a the kind of color that goes well with a lot of things I already have in my wardrobe, so planning an outfit for the blue shoes is not that big of a deal as I can throw on a couple of denim combos and make it look effortless chic.

With the lal kheriyan, I had to be careful as I think red is the kind of color that can make or break an outfit and if the footwear is gonna be a popping color, the rest of the outfit should be able to neutralize the popping effect to make the outfit work. It suits my ideology of a wearable outfit. Sure, some people love color and popping it all over and for them too, this would be a great fit. I thought that maybe pairing it up with something as conventional as a black suit jacket would make the outfit more "me" where I get the love of black with my love of pop art footwear.
