NUST Olympiad 2013: The Have Beens and Should Have Beens

You can read my review of NUST Olympiad Day 1 and 2 here and of day 3 and 4 here.

Have Beens (Pros/Good Aspects)

1. FUN FUN FUN! Not a single moment (except a few) were idle. It was a four day doze of fun!

2. Events for Everyone! Nerds (gaming),  Jocks (footsal) and what not. Seems like every stereotypes personality had something to keep themselves busy with!

3. The food was great! Yes, it was delicious. The dinner was well catered and tasty!

4. The socials! They were fun and engaging and gossip worthy. Whether it was about who looked hot or not (I'm sure the fire breather was!) or the play's replays (you know what I mean), all the social events were engaging and fun.

5. Last, but not the least, the speeches at the opening and closing ceremony were really short and to the point, thus making them a lot lot less time consuming and that is how it should be.

Noteworthy mentions should go to the videographers and the creative team for making awesome videos about the event and the logo design was simply alaa!

Should Have Beens (Cons/Can Improve On)

1. The time management was extremely pathetic. Events started late. And not just an hour late. But two or three hours late! That's unbearable.

2. The social media team was extremely pathetic. They know nothing about hash tags and how to be active on twitter. Though their pics might say follow them on twitter, but let me assure you, it wasn't good. The updates were slow and their was no distribution of events. It was all just haphazard and ill managed. And can someone please realize that instagram is now a must have social app. And they're not even on that!

3. the accommodation could have been better. Trust me. Stacking everyone in a common room gives no time to bond with people of other universities as they just make groups and leave others out. At least otherwise, no one will feel left out like I did (I was the only one from my uni to stay back at NUST).

Rest, it was amazing!

Hope to see a better event next year!
