A Hipster's Guide to Surviving the Summer Sales in Pakistan
That time is here when almost every other big outlet is gonna be hoarding their billboards with that really tempting sale sign. And even though the hipster way is to buy stuff before it goes on sale so that you can have it before everyone else does, there's still some sort of satisfaction in going shopping in the sale season. So here's my guide on how to shop the hipster way
Know Thy Tee:-
We all know how old the logos are now on tees. So it's time to move on from those tees. A true hipster tee is nostalgic, and fun and meant for just you. It's supposed to make you feel more you, and not look like a goof while doing it. So for such tees, I would suggest going to Chen One. They have this amazing tee with all the books' names on it that screams HIPSTER and that is a must have. Next would have to bee tees from Dockers. They're simple and different and you will rarely find someone wearing the same! Plus, Gul Ahmed has a tee with a really hipster pattern on it, so I would suggest buying that. Since the size didn't fit me, I couldn't get it. I would say denizen, but then it's so common that everyone ought to have gone there. DON'T GO THERE for the tees! Crossroads, Outfitters, Breakout, Stoneage and all the mainstream brands are a BIG NO! it's so unlike a hipster to be shopping from there!
Shirts are so "it" :-
You should know well that if you're a hipster, shirts are a must for the wardrobe. So go along with the great shirts available at Gul Ahmed. They're THE hipster shirts with all those cool and tried out patterns that hipsters are associated with. In case, if you want tie'n'dye, then Chen One has really cool tie'n'die blue shirts that are a must have! Checkered shirts are a must have for your wardrobe! Dockers' shirts are a must have!
What About the Jeans:-
Jeans are the best from levi's but even they don't have the typical hipster ones. It HAS to be a faded dirty light blue that looks centuries old. So denizen has one, but you might have to wash it a few times to make it look stoned. Slim fit is the ultimate hipster trend, so go for that. Black would do too. But if you find the ones levi's, go for that!
Shorts:-
While cargo shorts are the rage, Outfitters has some really cool shorts you might wanna check out. First of all, they're unwearable by the common man here, so you can totally opt for it. And when you do, make sure you buy the most ridiculous color, i.e. RED!
Dockers has some really good shorts as well.
Let Your Feet be your Wings:-
Servis has this really cool N-dure line now, that you must get some boots off it. And Don Carlos won't hurt too. Just make sure you have a really thic and big sole and the top should be high. Sneakers are so overrated, so please refrain from buying those. The best way to go would be with your old boots or the ever so trusted combat boots! DON'T buy the footwear from any of the mainstream shops (mentioned above) as everyone would be doing that! Rely on your boots! Always!
Accessories:-
Remember, everyone nowadays is wearing those wayfarers that we have been wearing for years. So it's a no go. This year, we're opting for round glasses or ovals. That's what'll set us apart. Those thieves have taken our style. But hey, we still have loads of eye wear options!
While I totally appreciate buying wrist bands, the time would be to shift to statement watches. The best option would be to go wear your daddy's old watch or steal one of your granddad's! They make the best accessory. So Vintage!
